What could possibly make a 5- year- old so sad???????
It took me a long time searching online, I finally found it - my favorite childhood TV show - "Candy Candy" It surely brings wonderful memories, after homewok and dinner on the week days, 6 pm, the show is on! My Candy Candy pencil box, stickers and coloring books! I used to love the character Annie for her green hair too :) But to intorduce my childhood favorite to my daughter is no small business, will she like it? Is it too old fashion? More importantly, how in the world is she going to understand it?
Thanks to youtube, I was able to find the original Candy Candy in Japanese with English subtitles. Noel is proven to be more mature than I was as a little girl, or should I say - more senesitive. When Candy's boyfriend Anthony died, Noel could not help herself, she cried and cried for some time and left me standing there, did not really know what to say to her. All I can think of was : " did I cry when I saw this as a little girl? I think not!"
